What is HubSpot? A Single Platform for Everything You Do

Contents

So you've heard about HubSpot, or maybe you've downloaded one of their offers, but what is HubSpot exactly?

Much to the disappointment of many people I've worked with, signing up for HubSpot alone will not immediately get you a steady stream of leads and customers, but it does help. You’ll need to learn to leverage the platform’s many tools to convert more visitors into leads. HubSpot’s tools help you manage relationships with customers so you can do exactly that.

HubSpot wasn’t always as robust as it is now. It was founded at MIT in 2006 as a marketing software solution. In the years since, it’s grown into a suite of applications to grow your business that’s used all over the world.

Today, it's an all-in-one platform for online marketing automation software, customer relationship management (CRM), sales enablement software and more recently, customer success software.

While the CRM is at the center of HubSpot, there are also five “Hubs,” which are special subsets of the software and do different things.

  • HubSpot Marketing Hub: email marketing, social media, landing pages, and other assets the marketing team needs.
  • HubSpot Sales Hub: meeting scheduling, deal pipelines, payments, tasks, and other sales team essentials.
  • HubSpot Service Hub: knowledge base, ticketing, surveys, and team resources.
  • HubSpot Operations Hub: field mapping, programmable automation, data clean up, webhooks, and automation schedules.
  • HubSpot CMS Hub: website pages, hosting, CDN, SSL, and reporting.

Even up against software like Salesforce and Marketo, this incredible platform has ranked highest among its peers by industry professionals. Marketing departments as well as the other departments they work with consistently prefer HubSpot over its competitors, and HubSpot’s customer feedback is consistently outstanding.

Managing Your Contacts in HubSpot

With HubSpot Marketing Contacts you can view all of your prospects, leads and customers in one place. Contacts has a timeline view that allows you to see every email, note and interaction with a lead. There are also plenty of fantastic integrations available for HubSpot.

With the LeadsBridge integration for HubSpot, you get a contact list format that integrates prospects linked directly with your Facebook ad campaigns. This can be a big boost to your marketing efforts and give you better data about your campaign.

With HubSpot Contacts automatically pushing data into Facebook, your marketing workflow is uninterrupted. The Contacts tools can also help you fine tune your ad campaign targeting to reach the perfect market or persona. This helps you get more qualified leads, run your campaigns at scale, and achieve your objectives.

Blogging

Writing great blog content is time- and energy-intensive. While it’s more than worth doing, it’s not enough to get your content ranking on search engines.

HubSpot’s WYSIWYG editor allows you to compose and format blog posts easily. You’ll see your content the way readers will see it, and you’ll even get built-in SEO suggestions.

HubSpot's blogging platform is easy to use and designed to optimize content by suggesting keywords as you type. This SEO and campaigns tools help you create content that yields higher traffic results. Calls to action convert readers into subscribers and eventually customers.

Email

The email section of HubSpot allows you to make the most of every email by providing reports on email opens, skimming and full reads. Emails are likely an important part of your sales process, and having actionable data on the emails you send is a must.

But how do you build a quality email list beyond offering quality content users will want to subscribe to?

HubSpot's EventBrite integration creates an RSVP for online events that will collect contact information from prospects, including their email address.

If you've been wondering what the big deal is about social media events, now you know.

Landing Pages

Why do landing pages matter? Unlike a normal web page that links to other web pages and is designed to be part of a network, a landing page is a stand-alone page that’s specific to one of your campaigns. Its purpose is to convert visitors on a call to action that’s specific to that campaign.

If your landing page does not load and look perfect on every device being used, you can forget about retaining those visitors and converting them to leads.

HubSpot will optimize, in a single click, content for landing pages, adjusting them for viewing for virtually any device.

Websites

This same rule for landing pages is true for your entire website.

If you have multiple website domains to manage, HubSpot can streamline the process. Even better, with cross-domain tracking, Hubspot can merge visitor profiles who visit multiple websites. This is done with the automated tracking code feature.

Multilingual

Although you may only speak one language, HubSpot can manage your content in many languages with HubSpot's COS.

Don't miss out on any potential market simply because of a language barrier. Why be on the worldwide web if you can't have a presence everywhere?!

SEO

It's great if you are committed to providing the kind of content that your customers want. But that's not enough for inbound marketing to be a real success.

You also have to write for one particular audience, Google. What kind of keywords is Google looking for?

If you want to capture Google's search engine attention as much as your prime market, HubSpot can help you. The best keywords research is at your fingertips on your dashboard.

A content audit can repackage your content to be SEO rich. With SEO tools like: Google Webmaster, Check My Links, and SEO Report Card, your content can easily be SEO enriched. Check out the many reports and analytics generated. There is simply no reason for your site not to be at the top of the list of search engine results.
